What is radiofrequency resurfacing? These machines deliver radiofrequency to the skin at a frequency of about 6 megahertz. This energy heats the dermal layer and stimulates collagen formation. The end result is similar to many of the other lasers and IPLs that accomplish nonablative resurfacing. The difference with radiofrequency is that some collagen denatures and thereby contracts immediately. This allows rapid apparent changes in the superficial wrinkles.
