How are the long-pulsed Nd:YAG (1064-nm) lasers used?

The long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser (at 1064 nm) has been used for hair removal in dark-skinned patients (Fitzpatrick types IV to VI). This laser has also been used for hair removal in tanned patients, but I would recommend avoiding laser treatments with recently tanned skin. These long-pulsed lasers are also very useful for treating vascular lesions including leg veins and larger vessels on the nose. Long-pulsed Nd:YAG lasers have also been reported to help with skin tightening.
