Can forms of radiation other than ultraviolet radiation cause increased skin pigmentation?

Yes. Thermal (infrared) and ionizing radiation skin injury can result in hyperpigmentation, probably due to melanocytestimulating inflammatory mediators and immune cytokines released in response to injury from these different forms of radiation.
