Do any other disorders manifest with CALM? Yes. In 1937, Albright reported a syndrome consisting of osteitis fibrosa disseminata, endocrine dysfunction with precocious puberty in females, and CALM. The CALM of Albright’s syndrome differ from those of NF1 by being larger and occurring predominantly on the forehead, posterior neck, sacrum, and buttocks. CALM of Albright’s syndrome tend to be unilateral and do not cross the midline, whereas CALM of NF1 exist in a random, generalized pattern. CALM of Albright’s syndrome appear at or soon after birth. |
