Nodular amyloidosis typically presents as solitary or multiple waxy nodules (Fig. 16-3B). Common sites of involvement include the face, scalp, lower extremities, and genitalia. It may be associated with the subsequent development of systemic amyloidosis up to 15% of cases. Rarely, it is found in association with Sjögren’s syndrome.
