Is dry scaly skin associated with internal malignancy? Yes. Acquired ichthyosis was first reported to be associated with Hodgkin’s disease in the 1940s. In 32 patients with acquired ichthyosis, Hodgkin’s disease was reported in 80% of the cases and was the presenting symptom in a few patients. This association is also reported with T-cell lymphoma, leukemia, Kaposi’s sarcoma, malignant histiocytosis, leiomyosarcoma, and multiple myeloma.
