Paraneoplastic pemphigus is a superficial blistering skin disease with a reported association with lymphoma, although a few cases are reported with solid tumors. The clinical picture may resemble pemphigus vulgaris, bullous pemphigoid, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, with significant oral mucous membrane involvement (Fig. 35-5). The disease responds poorly to immunosuppressive therapy and frequently is fatal.
