Which organisms may cause chromoblastomycosis? Five fungal species account for most infections. The most frequent organism worldwide is Fonsecaea pedrosoi. Others organisms include Phialophora verrucosa, Fonsecaea compactum, Rhinocladiella aquaspersa, and Cladophialophora carrionii.
