What factors predispose to candidiasis? The factors that predispose to the development of candidiasis are both endogenous and exogenous. Exogenous factors include occlusion, moisture, and warm temperature. Endogenous factors can include immunosuppression, diabetes mellitus, other endocrinopathies, antibiotics, oral contraceptives, Down syndrome, malnutrition, and pregnancy.
