What is the primary symptom of Lichen planus?

The pruritus of LP is often intense. Nearly all patients report some itching. Interestingly, the pruritus of LP often maintains a special quality that will induce rubbing, rather than scratching, for relief. Such rubbing may account for the polished appearance of the lesions. If excoriation occurs, new lesions are likely to develop within wounds (Koebnerization).
