Mastocytosis. Mastocytosis is due to an excess of normal-appearing mast cells in the skin. There are four forms, with solitary mastocytomas and urticaria pigmentosa (Fig. 58-8) being the most common. Diffuse cutaneous mastocytosis and telangiectasia macularis eruptival perstans are
