How does the myxedema of hypothyroidism differ from pretibial myxedema of Graves’ disease?

Myxedema of hypothyroidism has smaller quantities of mucin with a generalized distribution over the entire surface area of skin. Pretibial myxedema often has dermal pools of mucin and is localized to the anterior legs.
