What is the “triple response”? Name the components.

The triple response is responsible for producing an urticarial lesion and can classically be produced by injection of an allergen into the skin of a sensitized individual. The three components producing the reaction are as follows:
• Vasodilatation (erythema)
• Increased vascular permeability (wheal)
• Axon reflex (flare)
