What causes seborrheic dermatitis?

Seborrheic dermatitis is probably a hypersensitivity response to common skin yeasts, of the genus Malassezia (Pityrosporum). Seborrheic dermatitis may be more severe when associated with HIV infection, the use of dopamine antagonist antipsychotics, and Parkinson’s disease.
