How is molluscum contagiosum treated? Treatment options include liquid nitrogen cryotherapy, curettage, electrodesiccation, trichloroacetic acid, topical wart preparations, laser ablation, tretinoin, topical fluorouracil and imiquimod, and topical or intravenous cidofovir. However, treatment of widespread lesions in advanced HIV disease is problematic, as lesions are numerous and tend to recur.
