Which type of drug reaction can result in a quick death?

Systemic anaphylaxis, which is IgE mediated, may present with variable findings, including mild pruritus, erythema, urticaria, asthma, circulatory collapse, laryngeal edema, and death. When a patient gives a history of reaction to a drug, the health care provider must ask for details about the previous reaction, particularly seeking a history of urticaria, breathing problems, collapse, and hospitalization.
