What are the side effects of fluoxetine?

The major side effects include anxiety, insomnia, headache, tremor, dizziness, sweating, and gastrointestinal complaints, such as nausea and diarrhea. Although a relatively safe medication, this drug should not be administered to patients on monoamine oxidase inhibitors or to those individuals with a bipolar disorder.
