What is the most common tick-borne infectious disease in the United States?

Lyme disease. It is caused by the Borrelia burgdorferi, a spirochete, and transmitted by the hard ticks: Ixodes scapularis (deer tick), in the Northeast and the upper Midwest (Minnesota and Wisconsin), and I. pacificus in the Pacific states.
