How do you treat pyoderma faciale?

This is one of the few times that oral steroids should be used to treat acne. Prednisone in a dose of 40 to 60 mg daily tapered over 3 to 4 weeks is indicated. Isotretinoin should be started in a dose of 1 mg/kg/ day in conjunction with the prednisone and continued for 4 to 6 months. Once the disease has been brought under control, it rarely, if ever, recurs.
