How does steroid acne differ from acne vulgaris?

Steroid acne has a sudden onset, the lesions are monomorphic (all lesions at the same stage of development), and comedones are absent. It occurs primarily on the upper trunk, less frequently on the face, and clears when the drug is withdrawn.
