Hand, foot and mouth disease This occurs as epidemics in young children and is due to coxsackie A16 virus. Children present with oral blisters or ulcers, red-edged vesicles on the hands and feet and mild fever. It usually fades within a week. Management Supportive measures only are needed, e.g. paracetamol, encouragement with oral fluids. |
