What is the inheritance of tuberous sclerosis?

Inheritance is autosomal dominant, with high penetrance but variable expression. Up to 60% of cases are said to represent new mutations, but “normal” parents must undergo thorough clinical and radiologic evaluation to exclude subclinical disease.
