Are interferons effective in treating mycosis fungoides? Yes. Of the interferon group of drugs, recombinant interferon-a has been the most promising. Both complete remissions and partial remissions have been reported. Low-dose treatment protocols are as effective as high-dose protocols and have fewer side effects. The recommended dose is 3 million units, given subcutaneously, three times weekly. |
