What forms of treatment are available for Wegener’s granulomatosis and Churg-Strauss syndrome? Systemic corticosteroids are the mainstay for treatment of most forms of systemic vasculitis, and it is the mos common treatment used in Churg-Strauss syndrome. Corticosteroids alone are often not effective in Wegener’s granulomatosis, and most patients require cyclophosphamide in combination with corticosteroids for effective control. This is one of the most important reasons for distinguishing between these two disorders.
